In this blog post I list how you can save for January classes, what we are doing in the January Thursday afternoon group and help you choose the right coloured pencils set.

Drawing is a great way to kick off the new year with either a new hobby or picking up where you left off. January is quite a dark month and winter weather keeping us all indoors means that it is a great time to draw and paint, settling in to some relaxing drawing..

Drawing is such a fabulous start, you can draw simply with a sheet of paper and a pencil or you can up your skills with coloured pencils, pastels and charcoal. Either way it is an enjoyable way to have some quiet creative down time.

P.s. Adding to your drawing toolkit? Looking for coloured pencils? Not sure which makes are better than others?

You can buy single pencils but for some super drawings keep an eye open for sets of pencils that normally come in tin boxes. Ones that have two of each colour are a great start. Look out trusted artist go to's such as Derwent, Faber-Castell and Caran D'Ache. Places to find online - check out Facebook market place, Ebay - used you might be lucky or if you like shopping with Jacksons Art, heres a link below...

At the time of writing Jacksons Art have an offer on some lovely Faber-Castell coloured pencils click here

I receive a small nominal amount for any art materials purchased from Jacksons Art
