July Sketchbook Session - holidays

Our last monthly sketchbook theme before the summer holidays! Join us for the last class of the summer before we break for August. If you are new you are welcome to come to the sketchbook sessions or if you just like the theme and want to paint come along as well. Read on for the theme!

The theme is: holidays, think of boats, water, simple scenes and holiday memories gone by for your sketchbook. If you need any inspiration, check out Pixabay for royalty free images to inspire here the ones below are from Pixabay.

You could also prepare ahead by taking photos or doing small sketches on our beaches/countryside

Ideas for materials suggestions to help you decide what to paint could consist of:

1. Line and wash using a pen and watercolour on watercolour paper

2. Line and wash over collaged papers and acrylic/watercolour paint

3. Coloured pencils and watercolour paints

4. Painting on a coloured painted page using a few colours this can be done either in acrylic or watercolours

5. A simple drawing in pencil with shading using a putty rubber for depicting light

   
   

   Any of the above or your own ideas.

   We will be reviewing all of the sketchbook entries completed so far this year, its been fantastic and we will continue until the end of 2025 with this, we will celebrate with coffee and cake!
