Such sad news to say that Jean (Ellis) passed away last week in hospital. Jean came to the Thursday morning classes for many many years and even up until quite recently. Such a lovely, lively person Jean always had a smile and was great fun, she will be much missed.

Jean always had a great story and had a keen interest in everything, especially being shown how to add a certain technique in drawing or painting. Always optimistic about how her progress was faring she would then say with a smile 'I'm going to make it my own' and she did in such a creative way.

Here are a selection of Jean's paintings, we will miss Jean at class and send our heartfelt wishes to her family.
We dedicate todays class, 24 July to Jean with all the wonderful paintings after Van Gogh of the tall sunflower.

Please feel free to leave a comment if you have a fond memory of Jean in class, thank you.

Yes I have fond memories of Jean. In fact we had a friend in common - Jay Lancaster (who also came to art and who died a while ago) and Jay’s husband Colin. In fact I think it was Jay who brought Jean to art initially. I think they lived in the same apartments in Worthing and Jean used to let me know how Colin was getting along. Sad that Jean is no longer with us.
I always admired Jean’s artwork.
Oh no... so sad 😥 I always loved chatting with Jean and I had missed her in recent weeks. I did not know she was unwell. So lovely to see all her paintings over the years, most of them I hav done too. She will be missed.
