For the final Thursday morning of April we are focusing on a spot of printmaking with the Gelli Plate. I have written blog posts about this before, see the links below and usually we get them out for Xmas cards but I thought it would be fun to incorporate the prints into your new sketchbooks.
If you haven't attended any of the sketchbook sessions and want to come, please do its never too late to start a sketchbook. Likewise if you don't have a gelli plate I have 2 that can be used.
The theme is: Flowers! Either bring your own flowers to paint from or an image to work from alongside the gelli printing exercise. Here is one to inspire you.

The session will aim to produce prints that can either be painted on (using the print as a background) or as a collage element (cutting the prints and creating the flowers).
TIP
You might like to splash out and get some super Japanese tracing paper for this class, it does wonderful prints and I have had some great results, from Jacksons here
Alternatively you can get the Chinese Sumi Rice paper from Amazon (not tried) here
Deli paper is supposed to also be good, see online. Thinner cheaper paper is good too.
EQUIPMENT:
Gelli plate, kitchen roll, apron (can get messy), roller
Acrylic paints, brushes, water pot,
Flowers/print out that inspires you
paper (see above) ideally that fits your gelli plate and a fair quantity as this is the point of gelli printmaking
sketchbook
scissors if creating a collage, matt medium to stick
See the previous post about Gelli Plate printmaking:
The link below has further links of where to get a Gelli Plate, roller and other equipment if you want to see what to bring in detail.
Further details will be on 23 April Thursday Weekly Newsletter where you can sign up or alternatively let me know you can come on the home page, scroll down and hit yes I can come the link is here
Hope you can make it along
best wishes Jane
